Duplex test: a controlled physical comparison
Use it before printing booklets, manuals, forms, or two-sided handouts, especially after changing long-edge/short-edge settings.
What to inspect on paper
- The FRONT arrow and BACK arrow point toward the same physical top edge.
- Corner numbers align with the correct corners when held to light.
- The center targets overlap closely from front to back.
- Page 1 is the front and page 2 is the back.
What a clean result looks like
- The back is upright for the chosen binding edge.
- Front/back center marks show only small mechanical registration variation.
- Heavy fills do not show through beyond what the paper weight predicts.
What the result does not prove
- The browser cannot force automatic duplex or a particular flip edge.
- Manual duplex paper reinsertion differs by printer.
- Inkjet output may need drying time before the second pass.
